Steven Vai and JEM7V

Steven Siro Vai (born June 6, 1960) is an American guitarist, songwriter and producer of Italian origin who has sold over 15 million albums. After starting his career as a music transcriptionist for Frank Zappa, Vai recorded and toured in Zappa's band for two years, from 1980 to 1982. He began a solo career in 1983, has released eight solo albums and won three Grammy Awards. He has also recorded and toured with Public Image Ltd., Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth and Whitesnake. Vai has been a regular touring member of the G3 Concert Tour which began in 1995. In 1999 Vai started his own record label Favored Nations, intending to showcase as he describes, "...artists that have attained the highest performance level on their chosen instruments."

The Ibanez JEM7V, also known as the JEM7V WH(White), is a JEM series guitar model and signature model of guitarist Steve Vai, introduced in 1993. Features include an alder body, DiMarzio pickups, a double locking tremolo and pearl and abalone vine fingerboard inlays. A thin basswood veneer is applied to the top and back of the body to prevent the finish from settling into the alder wood grain making it appear through the finish.

 

 

 

Features of Our Steve Vai Jem7v

Our replicated guitar is beautifully made from the alder body to the 5-piece maple/walnut neck. They are in accordance with the original JEM7VWH. Alder is best known as the body wood for the "classic single-coil, bolt-on neck guitar," Alder produces clear full bodied vintage tone that works well for lead or rhythm work. 

Our JEM7VWH has a white finish that's highlighted with awesome looking white pearloid pickguard. It looks fantastic. The original JEM7VWH have 2 humbuckers and 1 single coil. We have duplicated it as well. Together with the special 5-way switch, they give a beautiful tone to the guitar when it comes to playing metal or hard rock as the pickups offer an excellent bass and treble response allowing you to get the perfect sound for those crunching, muted chords. Another feature of our JEM7V wh is the famous lion's claw, which we did as the same with the original guitar. The lion's claw is the space under the tremolo. The space under the tremolo makes it possible to pull the tremolo as much as a 5th. 

The JEM7V's 6105 frets with fluorescent vine inlays are a high but thin fret with perfect intonation, good control, and easy playability and "no choking" string bending.
