About James Hetfield

James Alan Hetfield (born August 3, 1963) is famous as rhythm guitarist, co-founder, main songwriter, and lead vocalist for the American heavy metal band Metallica. Hetfield co-founded Metallica in October 1981. Thanks in large part to Hetfield’s loud, angst-ridden vocals and on-stage pyrotechnics, Metallica gained a huge following on tour, becoming one of the most renowned thrash/heavy metal bands of all time. Since then, Metallica has won nine Grammy Awards and released nine studio albums, three live albums, four extended plays and 24 singles. Metallica frontman James Hetfield is quite simply the most gorgeous man in rock, and he's been through hell and back enough times to write about it hundreds of times over. He's been a human torch, he's been called a sellout. His beautiful deep hypnotic voice makes him the perfect front runner for one of the greatest -- if not the greatest -- and most influential bands in music history.

James Hetfield Explorer MX 250 “man to wolf” Guitar

Hetfield is best known for playing custom-made Explorer-style guitars. The big distinguishing feature of James' Explorers is that James guitars have set-necks (glued joint) instead of bolt-on necks. (Our replicated James guitars’ construction is set-in, which exactly accords with the original one.)

This new design was given the name MX-250II (and later just the MX-II, as the 250 referred to the price). This is the most famous model that James Hetfield uses. The MX-250II was released in Japan with set mahogany necks, ebony boards and full mahogany bodies with poly finish. (Similarly, the body and neck wood of our replicated MX-250featured mahogany, and the fingerboard wood is ebony.)

It has one volume control for each pickup. (Our replicated MX-250Ⅱ has 1 Volume, 1 Tone, 3-Way Toggle Switch. All of these features adhere to the original one strictly.)

James Hetfield used Numerous Explorer MX250 models, Man to Wolf is one of the most popular guitars. It was used during the Roam Tour and still used live today. Can be seen in the video "Live Shit: San Diego" during “Harvester of Sorrow”. This guitar is the same model as most of James' Explorers, being the difference on the inlays. This particular guitar has a man turning into a wolf as inlays. It starts as a man on what seems the 22nd fret, and finishes as wolf on the first fret. (You can be sure that our replicated guitar featured “man to wolf” inlays strictly, as the photos show below.)

Our replicated “Man to Wolf”

I have no idea what “man to wolf” means but it probably means that you had to be someone or pay a lot to get one. James once used this guitar to play “of Wolf and Man”, which is one of Metallica’s well-known songs. It is said that it's about the wild instincts in every person since the beginning of time when man was beastlike and how we should explore our wildness every now and then. 'I hunt therefore I am, harvest the land.' 'I feel a change back to a better day, so seek the wolf in thyself.' The song and the guitar set the world on fire. According to my knowledge, a limited run of about 20 “Man to Wolf” Explorers were made. However, it’s such an attractive and distinctive guitar that many James’ fans aspire to see the guitar again. They thought the guitar is a nice way to pay tribute to the past and their idol--- James Hetfield.

For this reason, we do our best to replicate “man to wolf” in order to grant James’ fans wishes. Nothing can harm its beautiful looks or functionality. Our replica of guitars are completely built and assembled by highly skilled craftsman using the best parts & wood selection (all with top wood). Hardware is no exception; it is carefully chosen and will last you for a long time.

James “man to wolf” is truly an amazing guitar that performs well and sounds terrific. “Man to wolf” really deserves those, and will surely make you a happy guitar player! Some truly amazing features put “man to wolf” at the top of the ranking table in its price range. In conclusion, our replicated guitar is nearly the same as the original one. We promise that the guitar is with excellent quality and reasonable price.
